I have been amazed at some of the comments I've received from total strangers during this pregnancy. Not only do they feel like they should touch my belly, but strangers also LOVE to comment on how "absolutely huge" I am. Yesterday I walked into my Monday Morning Meeting at work and a guy I've met a few times said "WHOA, could you get any bigger???" I said "I hope so since I still have 6 weeks left to go!"
A random man in the elevator today asked me if I was dilated yet. I have also had several male clients ask me if I was planning on breastfeeding.
The best comment of all so far has been a lady working in the produce section at Tom Thumb a few weeks ago. She threw a bunch of questions at me: "How far along are you? Boy or girl? Is it your first?" And then she said "How much weight have you gained? It looks like it's all in your hips." WHAT?!? I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. So I just said "30 pounds, thank you." I just had to walk away shaking my head at that point... :)

ReplyDeleteAt least they haven't asked you if you're having twins. That devastated me - especially since she seemed convinced I was wrong about only carrying one! And yes... you look amazing! :)
